In this lesson we will dive into the world of bossa nova with Joscho's Bossa, an original piece I composed for the Transatlantic Guitar Trio featuring Richard Smith and Rory Hoffmann. We begin by focusing on the rhythm guitar, which is divided into two distinct rhythmic patterns: picking and a strumming gypsy bossa. Throughout the lesson, you'll learn how to switch seamlessly between these two styles to create a moving rhythms performance. You'll also be introduced to the melody based on the Transatlantic Guitar Trio video recorded at the Academy. The B part, for example, features Richard Smith's original transcription to give you a feel for his style. The rhythm guitar in this lesson is aimed at an intermediate level, while the melody is suitable for beginners. Enjoy your journey into the Bossa Nova and have fun!
